About Rosie
Hello! Welcome to English with Rosie. I made this website after teaching for a few years and wanting to not only share my knowledge and resources, but also to keep my ideas in one place when I'm travelling. I hope what I post here will be useful for ESL students and teachers.
I began teaching English as a volunteer with migrants at the Indo-American Center in Chicago. What started as a way to pass the time, teaching English quickly became a passion of mine and I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the field. Later, I worked at the Natonal Autonomous University of Mexico - Chicago (UNAM) teaching university students and professors in intensive english courses. I currently am teaching at the amazing CCEL in Auckland, New Zealand. Though most of my experience is with Elementary - Intermediate (CEFR A2-B1) General English courses, I also have experience with more advanced and beginner levels, one-on-one tutoring, and medical english tutoring.
I have a Pass A Cambridge CELTA and a B.A. in Intercultural Communication and a minor in German Language from Depaul University in Chicago.
More personally, I was born in England but moved to the USA at the age of 4. I grew up in Michigan and went to university in Chicago before moving to Auckland, New Zealand, where I am now. In my free time I like to hike, read, do yoga, and, of course, travel.
If you'd like to know more about me, feel free to send me a message!
